All parents are automatically part of the PTA (Friends of the School). We’re a group of busy parents, with still more to give! Being part of the Friends of St Marys is a rewarding way to meet other parents and to help the school and provide more for the children. As a group we get involved with the running of many school events; sports day, transition day, as well as school led fundraising events like the Christmas Fair, May Fayre, along with other events to raise funds for the school like quiz nights, barn dances, school balls and we rely heavily on parental support to make this happen, by both supporting these events and helping to organise them.
The more we can do, the more we can support the school with great new equipment and activities, which they usually wouldn’t be able to fund themselves – here is just a taster of a few of things that we have been able to provide; play equipment, a new shed for the school field, picnic tables, a visiting pantomime group, the African drum workshop and of course lots of fundraising towards the amazing new multi-use games area.
If you are interested in becoming actively involved, please speak to one of the committee and come along to our meetings, many hands make light work – we’d love to see you there!

Class Reps
We are a growing school, and we want everyone to feel a part of it and to know what is going on. Our class reps support us in liaising with the parents, school and the teachers, and help you keep track of what is going on. Please do volunteer to join the class rep team.

Events
For the latest news go to the Friends of St Mary’s website and here.
Easyfundraising – Visit Easyfundraising and select Friends of St Mary’s. Also use Easysearch as your search engine. This is an effortless way to raise funds for the school.
Christmas Fayre – This fun and busy event takes place on the last Saturday in November. We need lots of help to help set up, man stalls e.g. Santa’s Grotto, cakes, silent auction, tombola, secrets room etc and clear up afterwards. It is always a lovely fun family event.
May Fayre – This is a joint venture between St Mary’s Church and the school in the grounds of the school (weather permitting) and is another lovely, fun-filled traditional family event with many stalls, BBQ, tea tent, Maypole dancing etc
Festival in the Field (formerly known as Party in the Playground) – This has become a regular fixture in the school programme usually taking place at the end of June. All the musical groups and dance groups perform on the playground and parents and grandparents and friends are invited to buy tickets and sit and watch and then share a BBQ or picnic together.
