At St. Mary’s we believe that RE makes an important contribution to pupils’ academic, spiritual, moral and personal development. It also plays a key role in encouraging social cohesion and the qualities of respect and empathy.

“Teaching is outstanding. Lessons are taught with humility, respect and challenge”.

Worship

Worship at St. Mary’s is at the heart of our school: supporting children of all faiths and none to experience Christian beliefs and practices, and understand how these enhance our lives.

“Calm, joyful and inclusive collective worship impacts positively on all learners and adults. It emphasises community, belonging and equality”.      SIAMS Inspection 2016

All worship is explored through our School Values; Confidently Me, Belonging Together, Challenged to Contribute and reflect the British Values; democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for those with different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith.
