From our Newly Qualified Teacher Induction programme partnering with other local partnerships where appropriate and our specially designed courses, to our range of NPQ (National Professional Qualifications) Leadership programmes, we provide a comprehensive professional development offer. Furthermore, our Specialist Leader of Education and senior teachers design and implement tailored support packages for schools in a wide variety of areas.

You get to be part of a teaching team from day one. We will ensure that you gain invaluable ‘on the job’ training in at least two of our alliance schools so you get the most varied experience to help you succeed in your teaching career.
Get a fantastic grounding that will see you train in specific teaching methods in line with the national curriculum. Alongside training in general primary schools, we also offer the opportunity to spend some of the training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision so you get to experience the full spectrum of primary education.

Training to teach with the TTA will give you an excellent start towards your future teaching career. We have a wealth of experienced, motivated staff working together in a friendly, inspiring environment to make all students feel valued and supported throughout their training.
The programme allows you to be a part of the teaching team from day one and will give you invaluable training in at least two of our alliance schools. You can find a full list of our current alliance partners in the pack.
Unlike a university led PGCE, you select the main school you wish to train in. This means you can ensure the school is the right fit for you. Schools Direct is a school-led initial teacher training pathway that puts you in control. It offers ‘on-the-job’ training and teacher education. The programme aims to create highly qualified, highly skilled teachers, who are an integral part of a school community.
We believe that all children have the right to an exceptional educational experience. We strive to work together to continually develop teachers and leaders to fulfil this mission.
No matter which partner school in the TTA you apply to, you will join a highly supportive team that will help you develop the confidence to successfully develop as a teacher.
Our trainees have been hugely successful. With 100% of our Schools Direct trainees achieving Good or Outstanding at the end of the course, we know how to support and develop potential.
